As I was preparing myself and bringing Matthew up to speed on Salary Drafting (we are just over a week away from draft day as I write this) I wanted to review last season and see where it all went wrong.*
Since I am here though, might as well getting some writing warm-up in. Below are 10, lets call them "fun" facts about the 2025 season.
10. 20 players were salaried for $40 or more dollars. Of those 20, 18 were running backs or wide receivers. The last 2 were Lamar Jackson at $45 and Trey McBride at $48.
9. Ignoring $1 dollar adds to fill benches, 18 quarterbacks were taken in the draft. JJ McCarthy went for $3 dollars, the same as Brock Purdy and one dollar more than Dak Prescott.
8. For the last 2 years, Ray has led the league the Free Agent add/drops, starting in 2024 he has made 53 and 50 moves. What is more interesting is the person in 2nd place for those roster moves, Steve, with 51 in 2024 and 45 in 2025 (Is there nothing he can't get second in?).
7. 2025 saw the most points ever put up in a regular season at 1809 points by Steve's 12-2 squad. In those 2 losses, his team put up 140.20 (Week 10) and 121.56 (Week 12).
6. Joey had the biggest blowout win (157.66 - 70.08) and closest win (105.12 - 10.40) last season.
5. There were only 3 trades last year, in the last 3 years there has been a total of 10 trades, the 2024 season had 5 of those 10.
4. Only 2 of the top 10 wide receivers from last year did not have a rushing a attempt, they were George Pickens and DaVante Adams. Three wide receivers were tied with 17 rushing attempts Deebo Samuel, KaVontae Turpin, and Malik Washington.
3. Harold Fannin was add/dropped 11 times over the season, most by any player, he was rostered by four teams and started twice. Week 2, for 7.3 points and week 7, for 5.56 points.
2. Ryan has won 2 of the last 3 years and both times went into the playoffs as the 2nd place team. In the 4 games played in the playoffs his team has averaged 123.31points per game. Since 2021 the 2nd place team going into the playoffs has made the championship game every year. They have won it 3 out of those 4 times.
1. Mader has earned Sacko honors both times Ryan has won the league. Only 1 team ranked outside the 11th or 12th place spot has "won" the Sacko Bowl since 2021 (Marc in 2024).
